Our aim is to source and sell secondhand machines with a price that reflects their condition. We only sell new or reconditioned with a limited service and back up but offering large savings on the initial outlay. In essence, good quality machines at warehouse prices.

We are based in the UK but 85% of our business is done overseas.

We export on average around 35 containers every year.

In 2005 we started not only selling from stock but also on our customers' behalf on a commission basis which has proved to be very successful.

We are always in need of more good quality used dairy and food processing machinery. If you have anything to sell from single machines to complete process plants, please contact us.

Because of the way we work we can normally offer more for your machinery than any other dealer. Payment will be made in full before any work is commenced.

We offer a full 'World Wide' removal and transport service from your site.This service includes full insurance and all necessary paperwork.

Who's behind Machinery World?

Machinery World was started by Paul Crowter in 1999 with a single aim: supplying good quality dairy machinery at warehouse prices.

Hi, I'm Paul. I set up Machinery World back in 1999 and I have a passion for the trade which we are in. Before the days of Machinery World I used to be a salesman for a local domestic dairy equipment company. I could see that the Dairy industry in the UK was not what it once was and rapidly declining so wanted to channel my focus overseas. I do hope that you will have good dealings with Machinery World and I look forward to you getting in touch.

I started as a Stainless Steel Welder in the dairy industry at the age of 17 and since then have worked in several fields within the industry from general engineering, rebuilding machinery, dismantling and transport to eventually looking after business development and purchasing for Machinery World. I obtain a large amount of enjoyment and satisfaction from doing a good job and performing to the best of my ability. If there is any way I can help you please let me know.

Office and Transport Manager

I graduated from Leeds University with a degree in maths and mechanical engineering in 1995. My working life started in manufacturing quality within the automotive industry filling various management roles, including a stint as the Quality Manager of a tier 1 multi-national. More recently I moved into Project Management, managing the introduction of several new product lines, and completed several courses in business management. I joined Machinery World in December 2005 and am married with two sons. I take a very active role in all aspects of the office and adminstration, and I am often the first person people speak to when they telephone Machinery World.

UK Ice Cream

I look after our U.K. and Irish ice cream customers, from the largest industrial producers right down to start-up companies. Having worked in well-known ice cream factories since the 1990’s, there’s nothing that I find more rewarding than helping my growing list of customers to get the very best out of their machinery, ingredients, packaging and people! Our goal is to offer the most complete package in the business, including sales of our outstanding range of used machinery, brand new ROKK, Cattabriga, Soren and Promag machines, service, rental machines, spare parts through our Dairy Bits division as well as advise and consultation. With more than 20 years of B2B and B2C customer experience, gathered within the Food Processing and FMCG Industries, I joined Machinery World in the autumn of 2008.
My main objectives being to maintain and to improve relations towards our suppliers and to increase our market presents within the Dairy Industries across Europe. This resulting in me travelling and visiting our contacts throughout the year, always looking for surplus and/or redundant equipment. Being able to speak languages (Dutch, German, Spanish, Czech and English) allows me to communicate with all our customers freely and relaxed, ensuring that all levels of interests are being communicated correctly and without fail.

I started with Machinery World in October 2010. Apart from a 15 month period I have worked within the food and consumer goods industry for over 20 years. During this time I have worked on many different items of plant and machinery gaining valuable knowledge along the way, including 9 years Dairy experience. Here I am responsible for the over all management of our workshop, warehouse and service departments. I am only too glad to offer any technical support for our valued customers.

My responsibilities have grown over the 5 years from looking after our customer database and website to also include general sales to our international clients. I have worked for Machinery World since the early days of the business and have a background in general administration and finance, having worked for several years for HSBC Bank and the Civil service. My role has evolved as the company has grown and I have moved from being PA to the directors to my present position of supporting the finance director in the accounts department. I particularly enjoy the variety of tasks and meeting our many international customers. I started out as an apprentice electrician gaining valuable experience in UK and European installations over 10 years. I moved into a multi-skilled environment to gain further mechanical engineer experience over 20 years.
I started with Machinery World in 2009 and my job now is as a service engineer of ice cream equipment including commissioning, training and maintenance throughout the rest of the world.

In my previous occupation I was an electrical, mechanical and refrigeration engineer with over 10 years of experience gained there. I was taken on by Machinery World in 2010 to join the engineering team. I now travel throughout the UK and Europe servicing and installing and our clients machinery/plants and also training their staff.

Jonathon Crowter

Warehouse Supervisor

I’m the warehouse supervisor at Machinery World. I manage the dispatch and arrivals of individual machines, and complete plants, purchased and sold. My job involves keeping the warehouse in a condition that allows our clients to view the machines in a satisfying manner. I have a license to drive large forklifts with a lifting weight up to 12 tonnes.
