Description
This used Silverson Flashmix FMX50 is an industrial inline high-shear powder/liquid mixer designed for the fast and efficient incorporation of powders into liquids. The system actively feeds powder into the liquid stream, providing rapid wetting, dispersion and hydration while helping to produce a smooth, consistent and agglomerate-free product. Powered by an 11kW Silverson FMX50 inline high-shear mixer, the unit has a typical powder incorporation capacity of approximately 7,000kg per hour. Actual throughput will depend on factors including the powder characteristics, product formulation, liquid solubility and processing conditions.
The Silverson FMX50 Flashmix is suitable for processing a wide variety of powders, ranging from readily soluble ingredients used in low-viscosity liquids to gums, thickeners and other powders that develop into higher-viscosity gels after hydration. This complete powder-to-liquid mixing system includes the Silverson FMX50 inline mixer, an approximately 40-litre powder hopper and an electrical control panel incorporating an ABB Frequency Inverter for speed control.
Unlike conventional powder/liquid mixing systems that use vacuum to draw powder into the liquid, the Silverson Flashmix forces powder directly into the liquid flow. This allows high powder incorporation rates, reduced aeration and efficient processing at elevated temperatures or with more viscous formulations.
