Description
Extended Shelf Life (ESL) is a heat treatment method which is only applied in the dairy industry for production of ESL milk. ESL milk is a product which has a longer shelf life than regular milk. Unlike UHT milk, which can lose some of its taste during the heat treatment process, ESL milk virtually has the same taste as fresh milk – the only difference being the shelf life of the product.
Here we have a complete ESL milk process plant from Tetra Pak. The plant was installed new in 2006 and has accumulated approximately 25,000 running hours. The heating process occurs indirectly through 2x heat-exchangers.
